ABOUT ISREAL PEREZ
Milwaukee’s Isreal Perez at the young age of 22 already shows an understanding and versatility of the arts that we don’t see often these days. Perez houses the ability to carry a track using his voice but can also flow with the beat. Perez’ mission is rooted in hope, never fame or clout, “I drop gems of hope from an authentic place.” Perez states, “I want people to enjoy what they hear and then reflect on it later on.” Israel Perez provides a unique and positive experience for the listener, going beyond the music to get his point across. In dropping his debut album earlier this year Perez has laid the groundwork, next up is the takeover. “The first music I remember listening to was Michael Jackson.” Isreal recalls, “I remember having a VHS of his performance in 2001 and I memorized not only the songs, but the dance moves and mannerisms.” Growing up Isreal loved R&B, meanwhile his father was playing a lot of hip-hip from Brooklyn, reggaeton and salsa. It wasn’t until Kanye West released “Graduation” that Isreal fell in love with hip-hop and sites the difference in sound as to what attracted him to the album. “I took that same route of experimenting with different sounds and making every project a unique experience from those moments,” Isreal says. Isreal’s love for the arts would shine through all his music as no one track sounds the same from the Milwaukee artist. Isreal Perez brings a positivity to the music that is always needed, but even more so given the circumstances and state of the world currently. Couple this with Perez’ genre shattering art and willingness to be vulnerable with the audience it’s no wonder people are drawn to him. “Firstly, I just want them (the listener) to enjoy the music, just vibe out to it and have fun,” Isreal says, “the second or third listen I want them to hear what I’m saying.” Perez makes it a point that he’s not trying to preach to you, but there are gems scattered in the music, causing reflection and growth in the listener. Earlier in 2020 Perez released his debut album “20+ (What We All Needed To Hear)” and with it, a unique approach to the album housing a 30 minute long conversation at the end. “The idea of growing up and realizing that nothing is handed to you is a reality that everyone goes through.” Isreal says. The lead single “20+” is a prime showcase of Perez’ flexibility, writing and singing the melodies and then transitioning right into finely crafted verse. Isreal’s honesty and unbelievable skill is what makes him not just an artist for your playlist but someone we can relate to. Isreal Perez’ music turns heads and what’s more is that the Milwaukee artist is just getting started. First, he’s been covered by a number of publications including, More Than Music, Fifty-Twenty, Rapzilla and other outlets. With just a few releases under his belt Perez is leaving an impression on people all over the world. Perez has made it clear that the grind continues and that 2021 will be a big year for him. Between collaborations, new music and more content on the way, Perez’ path is set. “I definitely believe I’m going in the right direction and I’ll continue to be consistent and patient,” Isreal says, “I’ve fallen in love with the process, so I think next year will be a good one
